Moreover, the manufacturer of this machine mentioned that it is compatible with most tattoo power supplies that are available in the market. 

Stroke Length And Voltage Settings

The Solong machine has a 3.5mm stroke length. And I’m thoroughly impressed by its performance, as it provides excellent precision and control during the tattooing process. I mostly use this tattoo pen for blending and color packing. 

This machine is also versatile regarding voltage adjustment, allowing you to set the voltage between 5 to 11 volts. This means you have multiple voltage adjustment options for lining, shading, color packing, and blending. Moreover, its pen allows you to use tattoo needles from different brands, and switching needles is super easy. 

Motor Performance

The motor is the most important component of a rotary tattoo machine as it’s responsible for needle movement to penetrate the skin. So, the motor should be powerful, reliable, and durable to deliver smooth tattooing operations. And when it comes to this machine, it comes with a Taiwan-made 10w motor. Although, it does not provide greater force and speed. But this motor can deliver consistent and precise needle movements without overheating.

What Is Bad About Solong Tattoo Machine

Terrible Tattoo Power Supply 

As I mentioned above, the Solong tattoo machine allows the device to operate either through a battery pack or an RCA cable. There is no doubt that this machine is smooth, quiet, and produces minimal vibration. And, of course, it works well. Unfortunately, the problem lies with its tattoo power supply.

After using it for a few weeks, it broke quickly and kept disconnecting repeatedly due to the poor quality of the AC plug. Until now, I’ve tried three different power packs, but only one worked well. Fortunately, it’s compatible with various tattoo power supplies available in the market.  

However, to avoid this hassle, consider looking at other tattoo machines like the Mast Tour or Ambition Soldier. I also checked various online reviews from users who reported similar issues with the power supply. For instance, one user mentioned, “Last week, I received this tattoo machine in the mail. I took it out of the package and put the power pack to charge overnight. However, it does not work well and keeps turning on and off again and again”.

Battery Pack Not So Good 

Another downside of the Solong tattoo machine is its average-level battery. Although the battery works and is usable, there are better options. Some problems with it need to be mentioned. For example, it could be of better quality and easily damaged. 

Sometimes, it does not hold tight in the machine. But despite these issues, the battery is capable of retaining and providing power for more than 4 hours of continuous use. Since it’s a budget-friendly tattoo machine, you should expect some things to be flawed.

Terrible Quality Needles 

The Solong tattoo kit also includes 50 tattoo cartridge needles, which you can use on practice skin. However, the quality of these needles is subpar, and they tend to tear easily on the skin. This means you will not be able to create clean lines with these needles. Instead, you need to buy cartridge needles separately from other brands.
