Design And Durability

Not all tattoo machines are created equally in terms of design and build quality. Some are crafted using high-quality, solid materials, while others are made with lower-quality materials. However, the Dagonhawk Mast Tour Pro is constructed from high-quality materials, ensuring its durability despite its lightweight design.

In terms of design and shape, it has an ergonomic and beginner-friendly design that makes it super easy to use. At the same time, its shape and size are minimal, which makes it feel like an actual pen. These features make it an ideal tattoo machine for artists who want a lightweight device for tattooing work. However, there may be better choices than this if you prefer more weight and balance in your hand while tattooing.

Performance Of Motor

A coreless motor is installed in the Mast Tour. This motor seems consistent and smooth in terms of long-running and performance. However, when it comes to the power of coreless motors, they’re not powerful enough to push larger and larger needle groupings.

In simpler terms, this isn’t ideal for more extensive or more complex tattoo work. Additionally, using a mast tour pro at high voltages, such as 9v, is not recommended. Nonetheless, it’s still an excellent choice for small ink designs, making it perfect for beginner tattoo artists.

Stroke Length And Tattooing Applications

The Mast Tour Pro is an all-rounder because its tattoo pen is designed for compatibility with a 3.5mm stroke. This stroke length is considered medium and suitable for a wide range of tattooing tasks, including lining, shading, and packing. However, unlike the 4.0mm stroke, 3.5mm will struggle to push harder and larger strokes to make more solid lines.

However, it excels at the most basic lining work and allows precise needle adjustment. The box also includes ten pieces of 3rl and 5rs tattoo cartridge needles, allowing for versatile tattooing techniques.

Battery Performance

The Mast Tour Pro is one of the best wireless tattoo machines, particularly in battery performance. It comes with two rechargeable batteries, each capable of providing 4 to 5 hours of battery life. When combined, these batteries offer a total of up to 8 to 10 hours of extended usage. This makes it especially great for tattoo artists who like traveling. Besides this, it also has an RCA cord connection. This port allows it to be used directly with a power source when batteries run off charge.

However, in addition to these features, the Mast Tour Pro needs to be technically capable of providing enough power. The motor can operate up to 11v. However, it’s best to run it at 9v for steady performance. If you need a more powerful machine, consider Ambition Soldier, Mast Archer, and Mast Lancer

Price

The Mast Tour Pro falls into a more affordable price range compared to some good quality wireless machines. This tattoo machine costs about $150. It’s much cheaper than high-end wireless machines such as CNC-X-WE-1 Pro, Ambition Soldier, and Ninja. Overall, the Mast Tour Pro stands out as the best rotary tattoo machine available at an affordable price. Nevertheless, more budget-friendly options are available, like the Dragonhawk Mast Pen.

My Final Critical Review

Mast Tour Pro is a great option for budget-conscious tattoo artists. In terms of control and ease of use, it’s perfect for a beginner tattoo artist. Even Tour Pro is suitable for a professional level of work. The design and construction of it feel excellent. It has a beginner-friendly and ergonomic design. At the same time, its size is lightweight and pen-like, which reduces hand fatigue. However, it might be better for an artist who prefers a machine with balance and weight.

Although its coreless motor is smooth and consistent in performance, it’s not powerful enough to push hard strokes, so it’s not the perfect choice for large and complex tattooing work. Besides this, you should skip Mast Tour Pro if you’re a speed wizard, as this machine is technically unable to perform well on more than 9 volts.

Furthermore, it has a 3.5mm stroke length, ideally perfect for most tattooing work. However, it will need help to push larger needle grouping. Mast Tour Pro is also excellent in terms of battery performance. Both batteries are capable of providing more than 10 hours of battery.
