Cheyenne Hawk is truly like a marker pen with a 25mm grip and 130g weight. Its controls are super user-friendly, which makes it the best beginner tattoo machine. Its design ensures comfortable, wrist-friendly continuous use in long tattoo sessions. Some cords don’t last very long; sometimes, they cut off, and other times, the cord doesn’t provide consistent operation. So, this is a big issue with this machine which we found.

Cheyenne Hawk Pen only offers a 3.5 mm stroke, which is considered a medium stroke. This stroke is suitable for smaller needle groupings and works well for tasks like color packing and shading. However, it’s not ideal for the larger needle groupings needed for solid lining work. On the other hand, its top competitor, the Axys Valhalla tattoo machine, provides five different stroke lengths. So, in comparison, the Axys Valhalla offers complete versatility to accomplish anything from soft shading to precise lining. 

 To test this stroke length, we used it for color packing and shading styles and techniques, and the results were excellent. This tattoo pen is also compatible with tattoo cartridge needles from major brands, and you can adjust the needle depth precisely between 0 and 4.0mm.

Price

This machine is available for around $568, which is a high investment. But it’s still a little cheaper as compared to its top competitor – Axys Valhalla. However, even this price can be out of range for those who are on a tight budget. But its top quality features and specifications truly deserve this cost. If you want a top-class professional tattoo machine, you should invest in a Cheyenne Hawk Pen.
